The Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar signed Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with its trading partners to strengthen economic cooperation

Aiming at promotion of trade and strengthening economic and investment cooperation with major trading partners, the government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar signed the Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on cooperation in respective sectors at any opportune time.
In January 2020, the government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar signed totally 33 Agreements and MoUs with the People’s Republic of China including the MoUs on cooperation in the area of trade and investment development, quality improvement of Myanmar’s agricultural products and export promotion, Infrastructure and Human Resource Development, implementation of Special Economic Zone, better transportation infrastructure and urban development in Myanmar.
Likewise, the Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) on cooperation in various sectors such as fisheries, technical and vocational education and training, comprehensive environmental cooperation, establishment of one-stop services centre for Korean Investors in Myanmar, shipping line, shipyards upgrading, logistics, port development and management, science and technological cooperation, start-ups and innovation were also signed between the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Government of the Republic of Korea in September and November 2019 respectively.
The investment promotion and protection agreement between Myanmar and Singapore was also inked in September 2019.
By signing and implementation of the above-mentioned agreements and MoUs on sectoral cooperation, it will contribute to the economic development of Myanmar as well as promotion of trade and investment sectors.
