Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, H.E. Mr. Soe Lynn Han paid a courtesy call upon H.E. Ms. Sylvie Lucas, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg 21 February 2020 at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg and cordially exchanged views on promotion of future bilateral relations and cooperation. Present at the meeting were Mr. Chan Aye, First Secretary and Ms. May Myat Noe Naing, First Secretary from the Myanmar Embassy and Mr. Olivier Maes, Director of Political Affairs and Mr. Max Lamesch, Myanmar Desk Officer of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg.
At the meeting, the two sides touched upon the matters pertaining to Luxembourg’s development assistance to Myanmar, an envisaged ASEAN Day Event under the title of ‘’Business Opportunities between Luxembourg and ASEAN’’ to be held in early March 2020 in cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg and the ASEAN Embassies/Missions in Brussels, promoting the relations between the two countries on bilateral, European and global fronts in a friendly and constructive manner, the endeavours of the Government of Myanmar in the country’s democratization process including finding a sustainable solution to the issue in Rakhine State which is beneficial to all communities concerned; the status of implementation of the repatriation process for the displaced persons from Rakhine State; the Government’s position with regard to the ICJ’s recent provisional measures on Myanmar.
